One of the LTrek® signature Seven Leadership Summits™, LTrek
Kilimanjaro™, is an adventurous leadership development
program in which participants enjoy a progressive
leadership journey, rotating through stations, engaging
in leadership and character development games and
activities while tackling the highest peak in Africa,
virtually.
Students are introduced to Mt. Kilimanjaro and the
Tanzanian culture. They handle traditional trekking
gear and some climbing gear as they consider the
preparation required. Your
extraordinary venue becomes the mountain the campers
must conquer!
Each of LTrek’s Seven Leadership Summits™ explores a
different leadership virtue. The theme for LTrek
Kilimanjaro™ is that “all leaders are not created equal”
because this program focuses on “justice.” Students
even build a scale with household items while they weigh
the meaning of “justice.” They explore the importance
of “just” decision making,
following rules, not cutting corners, valuing people
equally, and the meaning of “fairness,” a very
subjective word.
Students engage in group problem-solving activities all
throughout your venue. Each station they visit
represents a different camp along the trail to the peak
of Mt. Kilimanjaro, beginning in Arusha, Africa on the
Machame Hut and ending with a final summit push from
Camp Barrafu.
Through analogy and an interactive presentation,
students engage in leadership development activities and
learn specifically about goal-setting, teambuilding,
preparation and readiness, and ethical decision-making.
All campers receive a certificate of completion upon
summiting LTrek Kilimanjaro™, a magnificent leadership
adventure!
